Hi all! It seems that every 20 years I need a retreat to rediscover a truthful path forward as a musician. And so, in a way, as a cellist, I am having my second retreat. Just like the first time, I am crazy busy again and it is like nothing I would have expected 20 years ago... I practice daily but do not perform these days. Instead, I am now the CEO of a media corporation called ConcertLab BV (BV=Ltd. in the Netherlands). We operate in a magnificent building: "A new kind of music venue that reinvents the concert experience by revolutionizing the way we film classical music." I believe we will soon present a new model of running a concert hall as well as a new production scheme and visual format for music films. ConcertLab is located in a 16th century state-monument in Utrecht’s historical center; a magnificent space with exceptional acoustics. The main floor combines an auditorium (seating over 250 people) and an open interactive area into one space. Similar to a TV studio, the seated audience are facing a filming set; an unusual white stage that is optimized for both filming and listening to classical music. The unique setting lends this space a personal warm contemporary atmosphere. More importantly, we offer top international artists exposure on camera that includs studio filming sessions, in depth interviews and live performances on the highest technical level at no cost to the artist. Our countless partners include Universal Music Group (DG), Sony, Warner, NHK, Steinway, Arte, all Benelux broadcasters, dozens of global OTTs and many others. I hope to see you perform at ConcertLab.
